Control Automatic DNS Server Cache Updates (Windows NT/2000/XP) Category: Home > Network > Servers
This value disables that automatic cache updated from the DNS root servers. Useful when there is a problem with the root servers, or if you wish to completely control DNS updates. Open your registry and find the key below. Create a new DWORD value, or modify the existing value, named "AutoCacheUpdate" and set it to "0" to disable automatic updates. Restart Windows for the change to take effect.
